FOOD FOR THOUGHT

 

We all know a diet is essential to staying fit.  But getting there can be easier with some very simple changes in your outlook.

 

It’s easy. One of the biggest problems is finding a regular diet that makes you happy.  Try several easy rules and you will be on your way.

 

  • Avoid what is bad for you.  Sounds repetitive, but many people cheat on their diet or forget the basics.  Eat naturally.  This doesn't mean you have to grow your own vegetables, raise your own livestock on natural feeds. Although face it, a little work on the farm might be good for your workout.  There are plenty of places you can purchase what you need to make your diet healthy.

 

  • Stay away from processed foods, frozen foods and anything that has a label with over 12 ingredients.  If you need  an education in chemistry to understand the ingredients, you have wasted your time trying to choose good foods. 

 

  • Look for snacks and drinks that aren't boring.  No one wants to watch the basketball game on TV when everyone in the room is crucifying their bodies with chips, beer, and alchohol to the point of death, while you are stuffing carrot sticks and celery.  Find things that are healthy and that you like.  Personally, I love carrots and celery hearts.  But my whole house thinks I am crazy.  

  • There are allot of natural  juices, energy drinks and to kill your thirst for the rest of your life.  Frankly, I am an Iced Tea freak with a lemon tree in my yard.  Natural lemonade is easy to make. Finally, water, bottled or otherwise is healthy for you, but acts as a lubricant for your body to loose weight. In moderation, it is healthy, as long as you work off water weight.
